HR Support Services (HRSS) provides specialized human resource services for various units across campus. HRSS staff work both remotely and onsite in the Facilities Complex on East Dean Keaton, on the 3rd floor of the FC1 building. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments preferred by using the HRSS Service Portal, or by calling 512-471-5466. 

Walk-in services Mon-Fri, 8a-5p for support with:

• Timesheet/ Workday questions
• Posting jobs in Workday
• New hire processing
• Assignment changes
• Overtime pay-outs
• Separations and separation pay-outs
• Family Medical Leave (FML)
• Sick Leave Pool (SLP)
• Guidance on university policies and practices
• Personnel records
• Process Worker’s Compensation Insurance (WCI) First Reports of Injury for all instances of work injuries/illnesses
• Process Return To Work (RTW) modified duty assignments for WCI or personal injuries/illnesses

HR Business Partnerships Team

The HR Business Partnerships Team in People & Talent provide the following support. Appointments are required for employee relations consultations.*

• Performance management and corrective action processes
• Information on employee rights and resources
• Referrals to other campus administrative offices, as appropriate
• Departmental trainings on employee relations topics such as Performance Management, Corrective Action, Performance Evaluations, University Resources, etc.

* ER consultation appointments can be made using the HRSS Service Portal or by emailing hr-bp@austin.utexas.edu. There is also a dedicated private space in FC1 for employees to log on and engage in video consultation.
